Sex Robots Poised To Take Over The Prostitution Industry, Making It Legal and Stamping Out Sex Slavery

Internet porn changed the shape of the industry.  Before the internet, porn stars shot straight-to-video films that were sold on cassette.  Now, because of the ease of access, anyone can become a porn-star, almost overnight.

Still, selling yourself for sex is not normally an ideal way to live.  Often, it falls on disadvantaged women with few options.  Pimps prey on the weak and take advantage of vulnerable women as they are introduced to the underground scene of prostitution.

This could change.  Robots are being constructed to take the place of the human prostitutes and it may actually legitimize the industry.

The theory sex robots are good substitutes for human prostitutes has a degree of credibility,” NUI Galway Law professor John Danaher revealed in his report “Sex Work, Technological Unemployment and the Basic Income Guarantee“.

“The cyborgs can cater for desire for sexual variety, freedom from constraint and complication and fear of lack of sexual success.  Technology may become better at developing emotional bonds with their clients.  They won’t need to ‘fake it’ the same way as human prostitutes.

He has a point.  Automating jobs that people don’t want has been a historical necessity, from farming and hauling, to machining and all sorts of white collar jobs, we excel at making robots do the jobs we don’t want to do.

It seems a little strange, but so did the automobile when it first came out.  Wrap your head around this one.
